About Me
Over the course of my career, I’ve designed and delivered learning for employees and leaders across a variety of industries, partnered with organizational leaders and subject matter experts, and supported learning initiatives ranging from individual workshops to large-scale development programs. As I relocate to Northern California, I’m excited to continue growing my career in learning and development and creating experiences that make a meaningful difference for both learners and organizations.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio! I’m glad to share a closer look at the work I enjoy creating. Continue below to learn more about my skills, approach to instructional design and learning development, education, and professional experience.
I’m Kimberlee, a learning and development professional, instructional designer, and facilitator who loves creating training that people actually want to attend.
My background includes designing and delivering customized learning experiences for working professionals across a wide range of topics, including leadership development, communication, customer service, compliance, and workplace effectiveness. Whether I’m developing instructor-led programs, participant resources, eLearning, or interactive learning activities, my focus is the same: make learning clear, practical, engaging, and worth the learner’s time.
My Process
-
Understanding What's Needed
Every project begins with understanding the current situation, the learner audience, the performance gaps, and the intended outcome of the training. This phase helps define project scope, identify needed resources, and establish realistic timelines and deliverables before development even begins!
-
Charting the Course
Once the foundation is clear, I map the training into an initial course framework. This includes developing learning objectives, determining the most effective delivery method, organizing the course structure, and starting to craft a storyboard that begins translating ideas into a tangible learner experience.
-
Crafting the Experience
This is where the training begins to take shape. Working independently or alongside subject matter experts, I research and build course content, develop prototypes, and refine the learning materials through multiple iterations. Visual design, branding, stakeholder feedback, and functionality are layered in throughout the process until the course is ready for testing.
-
Bringing the Learning to Life
With development complete, the training moves into delivery. Whether facilitated in person, delivered virtually, or launched through an LMS, I focus on ensuring a smooth learner experience by monitoring implementation, resolving issues, and supporting successful course rollout.
-
Measuring Effectiveness
Instructional design is an ongoing process, and evaluation is key to continuous improvement. By reviewing learner feedback, assessment data, and performance outcomes, I determine whether the training achieved its intended results and identify opportunities to strengthen future iterations of the learning experience.
